INGREDIENTS:
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 1.5 cups sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1/4 cup cooking oil
- 1 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder plus one tablespoon extra for dusting
- 2.5 tablespoons red food color
- 2 teaspoons pure Vanilla extract
- 1 tbsp white vinegar
- 2.5 cups plain cake flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup buttermilk
RECIPE:
- First of all heat oven to 350°F/175°C
- Lightly grease two 8 inch cake pans with butter or oil spray.
- Then lightly dust with one tablespoon of cocoa powder.
- Now make butter and sugar together with the cream until it becomes light in color.
- Then add eggs, one at a time.
- Now take a small bowl and mix oil, cocoa powder, red food color and Vanilla together until it becomes smooth.
- Now still color mixture and went through the cream sugar mixture.
- Now take another bowl containing flour, baking soda and salt.
- Then add half of the dry ingredients and half of the buttermilk to the wet ingredients and mix it well.
- Now repeat the same with remaining dry ingredients and buttermilk.
- Now divide better among the two prepared pants and bake for 25 to 30 minutes.
- Then cool it on a wire rack completely.
- Now cream cheese frosting, take together cream cheese, butter and vanilla and mix it until it becomes lighter in color and smooth.
- Now beat in icing sugar and it becomes fluffy.
- Then transfer one cake onto a serving plate and trim the top dome off to create a flat bottom later.
- Now scoop about 2 cups of frosting on to cake and spread it over the top
- Then place the second cake on the top of the first cake and use frosting to cover the top and sides of the cake.
