INGREDIENTS:
- Oil
- 2 cardamoms
- 3 garlic cloves
- 1 inch ginger
- 1 cup onions
- 1 1/2 cup tomatoes
- 10 cashewnuts
- 1/2 salt
- Butter
- 1 inch cinnamon
- 1 small bay leaf
- 3/4 to 1 tsp red chili powder
- 1/8 tsp turmeric
- 3/4 to 1 tsp garam masala
- 1/2 to 3/4 tsp coriander powder
- 1/2 to 3/4 cup green peas
- 1 to 1 1/4 cup water
- 1 green chili
- 250 grams Paneer
- 1 tsp kasuri methi
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 2 tbsp coriander leaves
- 3 to 4 tbsp cream
RECIPE:
- Firstly, heat a pan and add 1 tbsp oil.
- Then add 2 green cardamoms, ginger and garlic. Saute just for a minute.
- Add chopped onions and saute them.
- Then add chopped tomatoes, salt and turmeric.
- Saute for 2 to 3 mins.
- Cover the pan and cook on a medium flame until onions and tomatoes turn mushy.
- Add cashews and turn off the stove.
- Cool the mixture and transfer to a blender jar and make a smooth past eby adding water.
- Then heat a pan with 2 tbsps oil.
- Add cinnamon and a small bay leaf.
- You can skip them and just add 1/2 tsp cumin. Fry it for a min.
- Pour the onion tomato puree. Add chili powder, garam masala and coriander powder. You can also add the spice powders.
- Fry this until the mixture.
- Then add boiled green peas or frozen peas.
- Pour 1 to 1/4 cup water.
- Mix it well.
- Cover and cook until the gravy thickens.
- Add chili, paneer and kasuri methi. Mix gently and cover.
- Cook for 2 to 3 mins.
- Add chopped coriander leaves and cream, mix iot well.
- Transfer it to a serving bowl.
- Your Matar Paneer is ready to eat.
- Serve it with basmati rice.
