INGREDIENTS TO PREPARE IDLY:
1. Black gram-1 cup2. Idly Rava-2 cups
3. Rice flakes -1/4 cup
4. Fenugreek seeds - 1/2 teaspoon
RECIPE:
- Take a small bowl.
- Take the black gram into a bowl and wash it 2-3 times.
- Then soak it for 4-5hours by adding 1/2 teaspoon of fenugreek seeds to it. [Fenugreek seeds help us for a fluffy and soft idly]
- Now, Rice flakes don't need to be soaked for long. Soaking them for 1/2 or 1hour before preparing the batter would be sufficient.
- Now take idly Rava into a bowl and wash it at least twice with water
- Let it be in water till we grind black gram.
- Now, let's grind b
lack gram and flattened rice after 4-5hours by adding 1/4 glass water [or as much as you needed] - Grind it till it becomes a soft paste.
- It easily require 10-15minutes to obtain a soft paste.
- Now, squeeze off the excess water from the Rava and take it into another bowl.
- Then mix both
and the soft paste of black gram and flattened rice thoroughly [add some amount of water if needed]rava - Now seal off the lid and let it be for 4-5hours.
- After 4/5hours mix the batter again.
- Before preparing, take as much as idly batter desired into a bowl and mix it by adding little water.
- Add sufficient salt and baking soda to it and mix.
- Then immediately you have to put that
